The Graduate School at NOC Southampton (GSNOCS)

Postgraduate opportunities at the University of Southampton include taught MSc programmes, research-intensive MRes degrees, and PhDs, all supported by internationally recognised academic staff based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.

The Graduate School of the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (GSNOCS) is one of the UK’s largest and most diverse oceanographic training centres, with over 160 PhD students from around the world. Research areas include geochemistry, marine biology and ecology, marine biogeochemistry, geology and geophysics, palaeoceanography, palaeoclimate, physical oceanography and coastal engineering.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality education and research training, equipping students with the skills, experience and ethos to lead future innovation in ocean and Earth science.
